Meet our team

Kevin J. Ramey is a San Luis Obispo native who graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 2002. He went on to achieve a bachelors in science from the University of California, Davis in 2006, and a Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara University in 2010.

Kevin began his career in the greater San Francisco Metropolitan Area, but returned to San Luis Obispo County with his wife and two children in 2020, where he continues to reside.

Throughout his career, Kevin has primarily practiced family law, and has significant experience in dissolution actions, custody actions, support actions, domestic violence actions, and combinations of all three. In addition, Kevin has experience in criminal law, civil restraining orders, guardianships, and conservatorships.

Kevin worked for the 805 Law Group in Atascadero, California from December 2019 through August 2022 where he was a senior associate prior to opening his own firm on September 1, 2022. Since then, he has represented families throughout the Central Coast, protecting the rights of parents and children within the often contentious world of the Family Law Courtroom.

Kevin is certified as a Family Law Specialist by the State Bar of California, and is one of only seven who reside within the County of San Luis Obispo. The area specialist program was set up by the State Bar of California to help the public identify attorneys who have demonstrated proficiency in a specialized area of law, and to encourage the maintenance and improvement of attorney competence in that field. Kevin exemplifies this goal by regularly attending Continuing Education in the area of Family Law and related practice areas and always striving to improve his knowledge and litigation skills to better support the Families of San Luis Obispo and surrounding counties.
